About Me

Hello! My name is Angela Rowland. I was born in Chicago and grew up right here in Northbrook! I have two brothers, John and Mason, one sister, Samantha, and five step brothers, Chris, Alex, Bob, Christopher, and Matthew. I also have two amazing nephews, Mike and Travis. And I cannot forget about my two amazing dogs, Kobe and Woodson!

I grew up studying Karate. I spent almost every day training or competing. While I was a very competitive athlete, my true passion developed when I started teaching at the dojo (karate school). My love for teaching karate helped me find my career as a teacher!

I went to Indiana University to study elementary and special education. While there, I had tremendous experiences working in rural, suburban, and urban school districts. I completed student teaching in a public school second grade classroom and special education classroom.

I was fortunate enough to begin working in district 28 right after I graduated. I started at Westmoor as a one on one aide. The following year, I subbed for a long term maternity leave from August to mid February in third grade at Greenbriar. I now start my first year as the full time classroom teacher here in fourth grade at Westmoor! I am very excited for a fantastic school year.
